Grown on deep, rocky soils of an ancient river bed on the Napa Valley floor See Clone Cabernet Sauvignon from Backus Vineyard bud wood planted in 2003 Winemakers selected one barrel to represent the single best wine from the 2018 vintage. Each vine is hand-tended throughout the growing season, then hand-picked and -sorted

Winemakers Aaron Pott and Lindsey Wallingford chose one French oak barrel from this stellar vintage to create this unique wine of pure Cabernet Sauvignon from our estate vineyard on Pratt Avenue in St. Helena. Rich, dense and concentrated with velvety tannins, this wine is approachable yet age worthy.

About The 2018 Vintage
With abundant rains in the winter, followed by plenty of filtered light in the spring and early summer, the 2018 vintage saw near perfect growing conditions. Bud break occurred a bit late, but yielded a very even fruit set with such moderate temperatures. Summer brought bright sun and cool evenings for lovely extended ripening and consistency into the fall.
